The canton of Rethel is a French constituency in the Ardennes department in the Grand Est region . It comprises 18 communities in the Arrondissement of Rethel and has its bureau centralisateur in Rethel . As part of the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons, it was only slightly expanded in spring 2015.

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, 17 municipalities belonged to the canton of Rethel, these corresponded to the current canton with the exception of the municipality of Corny-Machéroménil . The old canton was 170.29 km 2 and before 2015 had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 0823.
