Acy-Romance is a French commune with 446 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ardennes department in the Grand Est region . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Rethel and the canton of Rethel .
geography
Acy-Romance is located about 37 kilometers northeast of Reims and is a banlieue in the southwest of Rethel . The Canal des Ardennes (Ardennes Canal ) runs through the municipality . The Aisne River limits the municipality to the north. Acy-Romance is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Rethel in the north and north-east, Sault-lès-Rethel in the east and south-east, Tagnon in the south and south-west, Avançon in the south-west, Nanteuil-sur-Aisne in the west and Barby in the north-west.
The Route nationale 51 borders the municipality in the east.
history
Archaeological studies have shown that a Gallic settlement existed in the municipality at an early stage. A late Celtic sanctuary was located here. Valuable artifacts and weapons have been recovered from the graves.
