Pruniers is located about 29 kilometers east-southeast of Châteauroux on the Petite Thonaise river . Pruniers is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Aubin in the north, Chezal-Benoît in the north and northeast, Saint-Hilaire-en-Lignières in the east and southeast, La Berthenoux in the south and Bommiers in the west.
