La Champenoise is a French municipality with 279 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Indre in the Region Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Issoudun and the Canton Levroux (until 2015: Canton Issoudun-Nord ). The inhabitants are called the Champenois .

La Champenoise is located about 50 kilometers west-southwest of Bourges and about 16 kilometers north-northeast of Châteauroux . La Champenoise is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Ménétréols-sous-Vatan in the north and north-west, Saint-Valentin in the north and north-east, Neuvy-Pailloux in the east and south-east, Montierchaume in the south, Coings in the south-west, Brion in the west and Liniez in the north-west.
