Montierchaume is a French commune with 1,643 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Indre in the Region Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Châteauroux and the canton of Ardentes (until 2015: canton of Châteauroux-Est ). The inhabitants are called Montierchaumois .

Montierchaume is about five kilometers northeast of the city center of Châteauroux '. Montierchaume is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Champenoise in the north, Neuvy-Pailloux in the northeast, Diors in the east and southeast, Déols in the south and southwest and Coings in the west.
