The Châteauroux Métropole is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté d'agglomération in the department of Indre in the Region Center-Val de Loire . It was founded on December 29, 1999 and comprises 14 parishes. The administrative headquarters are in the city of Châteauroux .

Historical development

In 2015 the community association was renamed from its previous name Communauté d'agglomération Castelroussine to the current name. With effect from January 1, 2016, the previous municipality of Villers-les-Ormes was integrated into the municipality of Saint-Maur .
