Le Tranger is located about 42 kilometers west-northwest of Châteauroux . The Indre delimits the municipality in the south and south-west. The municipality borders on Saint-Médard to the north, Palluau-sur-Indre to the east, Clion to the south and southwest and Châtillon-sur-Indre to the west and northwest .
