It belongs to the canton of Valençay (until 2015: canton of Écueillé ) in the arrondissement of Châteauroux . The inhabitants are called Sellois .

The municipality of Selles-sur-Nahon is located about 28 kilometers northwest of Châteauroux . It borders on the north by Jeu-Maloches , to the east and northeast Gehée , in the south and southeast by Frédille , the south and southwest of Pellevoisin and in the west and northwest by Heugnes .
