Heugnes is a French commune in the department of Indre in the Region Center-Val de Loire . It belongs to the canton of Valençay in the arrondissement of Châteauroux . It borders on Écueillé to the north, Jeu-Maloches to the east, Selles-sur-Nahon to the south-east, Pellevoisin to the south, Villegouin to the south-west and Préaux to the west . The hamlets in the municipality are called Le Carroir, La Tuilerie and Les Cailloux . Heugnes has a train station on the narrow-gauge Chemin de fer du Blanc-Argent . This is served by the Train du Bas-Berry . The Nahon River has its source in the municipality .
