Reorganization of the arrondissements in 2017
As a result of the reorganization of the arrondissements in 2017, the eight municipalities of Badecon-le-Pin , Baraize , Bazaiges , Ceaulmont , Cuzion , Éguzon-Chantôme , Gargilesse-Dampierre and Pommiers from the Arrondissement of La Châtre were assigned to the Arrondissement of Châteauroux.
Instead, the municipality of La Pérouille changed from the Arrondissement of Châteauroux to the Arrondissement of Le Blanc and the municipality of Buxières-d'Aillac to the Arrondissement of La Châtre .
