The Canton Ardentes is a French constituency in the arrondissements Châteauroux and Issoudun in the Indre in the Region Center-Val de Loire ; its capital is Ardentes . Jean Petitprêtre ( PS ) has been a representative in the Department's General Council since 2008 .

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton of Ardentes included the twelve municipalities of Ardentes , Arthon , Buxières-d'Aillac , Diors , Étrechet , Jeu-les-Bois , La Pérouille , Le Poinçonnet , Luant , Mâron , Sassierges-Saint -Germain and Velles . Its layout corresponded to an area of ​​436.54 km ² . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 3602.
