The District of Saint-Gaultier is a French canton in the arrondissement Châteauroux and Le Blanc in the Indre in the Region Center-Val de Loire ; its main town is Saint-Gaultier , and Jean-Louis Simoulin has been a representative in the General Council of the Département since 2004.

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton of Saint-Gaultier included the eight municipalities of Chitray , Luzeret , Migné , Nuret-le-Ferron , Oulches , Rivarennes , Saint-Gaultier and Thenay . Its layout corresponded to an area of 274.51 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 3619.
