Reorganization of the arrondissements in 2017
As a result of the reorganization of the arrondissements in 2017, the eight municipalities of Badecon-le-Pin , Baraize , Bazaiges , Ceaulmont , Cuzion , Éguzon-Chantôme , Gargilesse-Dampierre and Pommiers from the Arrondissement of La Châtre were assigned to the Arrondissement of Châteauroux .
Instead, the municipality of Buxières-d'Aillac moved from the Arrondissement of Châteauroux to the Arrondissement of La Châtre.
