Crevant is a French municipality with 718 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Indre in the Region Center-Val de Loire . It belongs to the arrondissement of La Châtre , to the canton of Neuvy-Saint-Sépulchre (until 2015: canton of Aigurande ) and to the communal association Communauté de communes de la Marche Berrichonne . The inhabitants are called Crevandiaux .

Crevant is about 41 kilometers south-southeast of Châteauroux . Crevant is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Chassignolles in the north, Pouligny-Notre-Dame in the east, Nouziers in the south, La Forêt-du-Temple in the southwest and Crozon-sur-Vauvre in the west.
