The inhabitants are called Vijonais .

Vijon is located about 44 kilometers south-southeast of Châteauroux . Vijon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pérassay in the north, Saint-Priest-la-Marche in the east, Bussières-Saint-Georges in the south and south-east, Nouzerines in the south, Terzillat in the south-west and Vigoulant in the west.
