Chassignolles is a French municipality with 568 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Indre in the Region Center-Val de Loire . It belongs to the arrondissement of La Châtre , to the canton of Neuvy-Saint-Sépulchre (until 2015: canton of La Châtre ) and to the communal association Communauté de communes de la Châtre et Sainte Sévère . The inhabitants are called Chassignollais .

Chassignolles is located about 35 kilometers southeast of Châteauroux in the southeast of the department in Boischaut-Sud on the river Vauvre . Chassignolles is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sarzay in the north and north-west, Montgivray in the north and north-east, Le Magny in the north-east, Pouligny-Saint-Martin in the east, Pouligny-Notre-Dame in the south-east, Crevant in the south, and Crozon-sur-Vauvre in the south-west , Saint-Denis-de-Jouhet in the west and Fougerolles in the northwest.
