Tranzault is about 26 kilometers southeast of Châteauroux . The municipality is crossed by the Gourdon River. Tranzault's neighboring municipalities are Mers-sur-Indre in the north and north-east, Montipouret in the east and north-east, Sarzay in the south-east, Fougerolles in the south, Neuvy-Saint-Sépulchre in the south and west, and Lys-Saint-Georges in the west and north-west.
