La Forêt-du-Temple is a commune in the French department of Creuse in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality with 143 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) belongs to the Arrondissement Guéret and the municipality of Portes de la Creuse en Marche .
geography
The municipality of La Forêt-du-Temple is located on the border with the Indre department in the catchment area of the Petite Creuse river , about 33 kilometers north of Guéret . The 7.72 km² community area is sparsely forested and characterized by hedges. In the north of the municipality, the highest point is reached at 459 m above sea level. The districts of Le Grand Pommier, La Graule, Le Bourigeaud and other hamlets and individual farms belong to the municipality . La Forêt-du-Temple is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Crozon-sur-Vauvre and Crevant in the north, Nouziers in the east, Mortroux in the south, Lourdoueix-Saint-Pierre in the west and Aigurande in the north-west.

Between 1836 and 1883 La Forêt-du-Temple belonged to the municipality of Mortroux .

Economy and Infrastructure
Nine farms are located in the municipality (grain cultivation, breeding of cattle, sheep and goats).
La Forêt-du-Temple is located away from the nationally important traffic routes on the D 990 road from Aigurande to Nouziers . In the département capital Guéret , 32 kilometers to the south, there is a connection to the motorway-like RN 145 from Bellac to Montluçon . The train station in Guéret is on the railway line from Limoges to Montluçon ( Ligne de Montluçon à Saint-Sulpice-Laurière ).
