Saint-Germain-Beaupré is a municipality in the Massif Central in France . It belongs to the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , the Creuse department , the Guéret arrondissement and the Dun-le-Palestel canton . It borders Bazelat to the north-west, La Chapelle-Baloue (point of contact) to the north, Lafat to the north-east, Sagnat to the east, Saint-Léger-Bridereix to the south-east and Saint-Agnant-de-Versillat to the south -west .
The Via Lemovicensis , one of the four historical " Paths of the St. James pilgrims in France " , runs through Saint-Germain-Beaupré .
history
Saint-Étienne-de-Versillat was an independent municipality until 1825 and was then incorporated into Saint-Agnant-de-Versillat and Saint-Germain-Beaupré. The hamlet of Lourioux went to the latter.
