Royère-de-Vassivière is a commune in France . It belongs to the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , the Creuse department and the Guéret arrondissement . It was the capital of the canton of Royère-de-Vasivière and was added to the canton of Felletin in 2015 .

The commune is bordered to the north by Saint-Pierre-Bellevue and Le Monteil-au-Vicomte , to the northeast by Saint-Yrieix-la-Montagne , to the east by Saint-Marc-à-Loubaud , to the southeast by Gentioux-Pigerolles , to the south to Faux-la-Montagne and Beaumont-du-Lac , to the south-west to Peyrat-le-Château , to the west to Saint-Martin-Château and to the north-west to Saint-Pardoux-Morterolles . In the east, the municipal marker has a share of the Lac de Lavaud-Gelade , through which the Taurion flows. In the south, part of Lac de Vassivière belongs to Royère-de-Vassivière.
