Faux-la-Montagne , in Occitan "Faus", is a municipality in France . It belongs to the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , the Creuse department , the Aubusson arrondissement and the Felletin canton . The municipality is part of the Millevaches en Limousin Regional Nature Park .

The municipality borders on Beaumont-du-Lac and Royère-de-Vassivière to the north-west, Gentioux-Pigerolles to the north-east, Peyrelevade to the south-east, Tarnac to the south, Rempnat to the south-west and Nedde and La Villedieu to the west . The municipality marker has shares in the lakes Lac du Channet in the southeast and Lac de Vassivière in the northwest. Lac de Faux lies entirely in Faux-la-Montagne and north of the village center . The former Route nationale 692 leads via Faux-la-Montagne.
