The Active Sound is one kilometer on average three broad Sund , located east-northeast of the Antarctic Sound between Dundee Island and Joinville Island to the Firth of Tay on the northeastern tip of the Antarctic Peninsula extends.
He was discovered by Thomas Robertson, skipper of the eponymous whaler Active on the Dundee Whaling Expedition (1892-1893), who was the first to sail the Sound.
