The municipality borders on Clugnat to the northwest , Toulx-Sainte-Croix to the northeast, Trois-Fonds to the east, La Celle-sous-Gouzon to the south and Domeyrot to the southwest . A stream called La Moussière flows through Saint-Silvain-sous-Toulx and flows through the Étang de la Forêt, a small lake, southeast of the Montluçon - Ahun railway line .
