Lépaud is a municipality in France . It belongs to the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , the Creuse department , the Aubusson arrondissement and the Évaux-les-Bains canton .

Geography and infrastructure

The neighboring municipalities are Verneiges in the northwest, Nouhant in the north, Viersat in the northeast, Chambon-sur-Voueize in the southeast, Lussat in the southwest and Auge in the west. Lépaud includes the hamlets of Les Asses, Beaulieu, Les Borderies, La Borie, Le Boucheraux, Boulerand, La Brande, Le Breuil, Chabassière, Chantemerle, La Chapelle, La Croix-Blanche, Le Faux, Gane-Baton, La Gasne-du -Pou, Gigoux, Massoux, Montplaisir, Le Petit-Maurissard, Le Poux, Le Rembucher, Les Rivaux, Rocheneuve, La Souvolle, Les Tailles, Tartot, Vélicitat, Le Vert and La Villedondaine. Gigoux was incorporated into Lépaud in 1834.

Montluçon-Guéret Airport is located on the municipal markings of Lépaud and Lussat. Lépaud has a share in the Montluçon-Gannat Portes d'Auvergne industrial estate . The former Route nationale 717 and today's D917 departmental road connects Lépaud with Chambon-sur-Voueize and Soumans . In the north-west of Lépaud there is a connection with the Route nationale 145 , combined with the European route 62 . In the south the Voueize forms the border.
