The Canton Évaux-les-Bains (Occitan Canton Evaus ) is a French canton in the Arrondissement Aubusson in Creuse in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine ; its capital is Évaux-les-Bains .

The canton is located in the east of the Creuse department.
history
The canton was established on February 15, 1790. From 1801 to 2015, eight communes belonged to the canton of Évaux-les-Bains. With the reorganization of the cantons in France, another nine municipalities moved to the canton of Évaux-les-Bains. These come from the former canton of Chambon-sur-Voueize .

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the eight municipalities of Arfeuille-Châtain , Chambonchard , Évaux-les-Bains , Fontanières , Reterre , Saint-Julien-la-Genête , Saint-Priest and Sannat belonged to the canton of Boussac . Its layout corresponded to an area of 180.61 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 2315.

In the election for the General Council of the Département Creuse on March 22, 2015, the couple Nicolas Simonnet / Marie-Thérèse Vialle (Union de la droite) won in the first ballot against two other pairs of candidates with a share of the vote of 54.23% (turnout: 62, 37%).
