The Canton Aubusson (in Occitan Canton Le bucon or Canton Au bucon ) is a French administrative unit in the Arrondissement Aubusson in Creuse in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine ; its main town is Aubusson .

history

The canton was established on February 15, 1790. From 1801 to 2015, ten parishes belonged to the canton of Aubusson. With the reorganization of the cantons in France, a further eleven municipalities from other cantons moved to the canton of Aubusson. These come from the cantons of Bellegarde-en-Marche (9 communes), Chénérailles (1 commune) and Saint-Sulpice-les-Champs (1 commune).

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton of Aubusson included the ten communes Alleyrat , Aubusson , Blessac , Néoux , Saint-Alpinien , Saint-Amand , Saint-Avit-de-Tardes , Saint-Maixant , and Saint-Marc-à -Frongier and Saint-Pardoux-le-Neuf .
