The District of Le Grand-Bourg (Occitan Canton Le Borg ) is a French constituency in the district Gueret , in Creuse and in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine ; its main town is Le Grand-Bourg .

The canton is located in the west of the Creuse department.
history
The canton was founded on February 15, 1790. From 1801 to 2015, seven municipalities belonged to the canton of Le Grand-Bourg. With the reorganization of the cantons in France, all ten municipalities of the previous canton of Bénévent-l'Abbaye were added.

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton of Le Grand-Bourg included the seven municipalities of Chamborand , Fleurat , Le Grand-Bourg , Lizières , Saint-Étienne-de-Fursac , Saint-Pierre-de-Fursac and Saint-Priest -la-Plaine . Its layout corresponded to an area of 197.99 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 2318.

In the runoff election to the General Council of the Creuse department on March 29, 2015, the team Annie Chamberaud / Bertrand Labar (DVD) won against Didier Bardet / Nadine Tessier (PS) with a share of the vote of 54.98% (turnout: 60.70%).
