The  soccer amateur league Rhineland 1953/54  was the 2nd season of the 1st amateur league , the predecessor of the  Verbandsliga Rheinland , also known as the Rhineland League. This league represented the substructure of the II. Southwest Division until 1963 and was thus third-class in the overall league hierarchy.

VfL Trier became the Rhineland champions . In the promotion round to the II. Southwest Division , Trier took third place and had to remain in the amateur league. As in the previous year, runner-up FC Urbar took part in the 1954 German amateur football championship as a Rhineland representative , but failed again in the group stage this year. The SSV Heimbach-Weis , the TuS Konz , the SpVgg Zewen 1920 and the VfL Brohl had to relegate to the 2nd amateur league after this season. For the following season 1954/55 the SpVgg Eintracht Höhr-Grenzhausen , the SC Sinzig , the Sportfreunde Daaden and the SV Trier-West came as promoters from the 2nd amateur leagues
