The football amateur league Rhineland 1958/59 was the seventh season of the 1st amateur league , the predecessor of the  Verbandsliga Rheinland , also called the Rhineland League. This league represented the substructure of the II. Southwest Division until 1963 and was thus third-class in the overall league hierarchy. It was the third season in which the league played with two seasons East and West. The Rhineland champion was determined between the two relay winners.

Rhineland Champion was the winner of the West Germania Metternich season after a 4-1 victory over East Masters SC Rhein-Ahr Sinzig . The subsequent round of promotion to the II. Southwest Division ended Metternich unsuccessfully in last place and had to continue playing in the amateur league.

The amateurs of Spvgg Andernach , SG 06 Betzdorf , SpVgg Bendorf and SV Woppenroth had to go down to the 2nd amateur league .

For the following season 1959/60 , came as a climber from the 2nd amateur leagues:

The VfL Trier came as a relegated from the II. Division and played in the season West in the following season.

The SSV Heimbach-Weis and Eintracht Höhr-Grenzhausen switched from the west to the east season after this season.
