The  football amateur league Rhineland 1969/70  was the 18th season of the 1st amateur league , the predecessor of the  Verbandsliga Rheinland , also known as the Rhineland League. This league represented the substructure of the Regionalliga Südwest until 1974 and was thus third-class in the overall league hierarchy.

VfL Neuwied became the Rhineland champions .

The SpVgg Bendorf took as Rhineland-representatives at the German Football Amateur Championship in 1970 in part, failed there in the second round of Saarland representative FV Eppelborn .

VfL Trier , TuS Bad Marienberg and BSV Weißenthurm had to go down to the 2nd amateur league . For the following 1970/71 season , the amateurs from Eintracht Trier , the FV Rheingold Rübenach and the Eisbachtaler Sportfreunde came as promoters from the 2nd amateur league .
