The FC Alemannia Plaidt is an association founded in 1920 football club based in Plaidt in Rhineland-Palatinate Mayen-Koblenz .
history
Early history
The association was founded in 1920. As early as 1937, the club played as a participant from what was then the Gauliga in the Tschammer Cup . There they played in the first final round on August 29th against Duisburg FV and lost 1: 3 at home.
Time in the amateur league Rhineland
For the 1960/61 season , the club rose from the 2nd amateur league to what was then the Rhineland amateur league . In the West season, third place was achieved at the end of the first season, and even second place was possible in the next season. In addition, the club could in the 1962/63 season in 6th place before relegation, since both seasons were merged for the next season. The years after that you were always in the middle of the league but could never achieve the championship title. In 1969 you also got into the final of the Rhineland Cup . There the club then played against SC Bad Neuenahr , the first game was a 2-2 draw, but the replay was then lost 3-0.
After the 1973/74 season one rose again to the 2nd amateur league. The club should have played in the highest amateur league in the Rhineland for 15 years. For the 1975/76 season, however, it went back to the amateur league Rhineland, where 4th place could be secured again. After the 1977/78 season , the third-rate amateur league was then abolished. Plaidt qualified for the Association League Rhineland with 12th place. In the same season, the club also competed in the DFB Cup again. There they played in the first round on July 31, 1977 against the Lichterfelder SU . Since the game ended 2-2, there was another replay on August 10th, which Plaidt won 3-1. On August 20, however, they were eliminated in the second main round against the Bonner SC with 1: 2 from the competition.
Current situation
In the 2002/03 season the club played in the district league center and was able to keep the class in 4th place. In the next season, however, it went down as the penultimate one. From the district league A then succeeded in the next season, the direct promotion, as you should only complete the table as third, which was not enough for promotion. The next season should go even worse and with the 11th place at the end of the relegation from the district league A should be prevented. For the next season 2006/07 the promotion was almost achieved, but in the end 2 points were missing from the leaders. In the following season it went back and forth in the position on the table at the end of the season, but you could always keep the league. Then finally in the 2011/12 season, with 60 points, the rise as champions of the district league A. In the district league center one always stayed mostly in the lower midfield of the table. This went well until the 2016/17 season, after this season the club was finally relegated as the penultimate. Only after the 2018/19 season was it possible to return to the district league center. The club still plays there today.
