The Rhineland Amateur Football League 1971/72 was the 20th season of the 1st Amateur League , the predecessor of the Rhineland Association League , also known as the Rhineland League . This league represented the substructure of the Regionalliga Südwest until 1974 and was thus third-class in the overall league hierarchy.

The Eisbachtaler Sportfreunde became Rhineland champions . The VfB knowledge took as Rhineland-representatives at the German Football Amateur Championship in 1972 in part and has already failed in the first round on MTV Ingolstadt  (Bayern). SSV Mülheim , Germania Metternich and newcomer ESG Betzdorf had to relegate to the 2nd amateur league . For the following season 1972/73 came as a climber from the 2nd amateur leagues of the SV Ehrang , the Ahrweiler BC and the Eintracht Höhr-Grenzhausen and as a relegated from the regional league last year's champion Spvgg Andernach .
