The SV Remagen 1919 eV is a German football club based in the Rhineland-Palatinate town of Sinzig in the Ahrweiler district .
history
Time in the top amateur leagues
The association was founded in 1919. At least from the 1949/50 season, the team played in the Landesliga Rheinland , which was second class at the time. This could be completed in the North relay with 24:18 points in fourth place. For the next season , the club moved to the middle season and finished there in third place with 38:18. From the 1952/53 season onwards , the 1st Amateur League Rhineland continued. In the now single-track league, however, the club had to accept relegation to the 2nd amateur league as 13th with 23:37 .
It was not until the 1971/72 season that they were promoted to the amateur league again. This season ended in sixth place with 36:24 points. In the following season, the team then always finished in a place in the lower half of the table, but was able to stay in the league. The 1977/78 season was the last season before the division of the league. Due to the eighth place, the club then went on in the Association League Rhineland .
2000s until today
In the 2001/02 season the club played in the district league center and ended up in eighth place with 42 points. At that time, the club was still in a syndicate with SV Kripp. After the next season, the team ended up in ninth place, but had to make their way to the district league A due to the reform of the leagues. The first season here ended in seventh place with 33 points. After this season the SG was dissolved and the SV appeared again independently. After the 2005/06 season, there was a further relegation. Playing in the district league B in the 2006/07 season , the team became champions this season and was thus able to rise again directly. Back in the district league A for the following season, a higher position on the table could also be achieved with fifth place. For a long time, the league could be held with positions in the top half of the table. It was not until the 2016/17 season that the team reached eleventh place, then a slightly lower position. After the 2018/19 season it should no longer be enough and the team descended with 20 points as bottom of the table. Thus, the club has been playing in the district league B since the 2019/20 season .
