The Rhineland Football League 1949/50 was the third season of the State League as the highest amateur division in the Rhineland Football Association's territory . The clubs from the Birkenfeld / Bad Kreuznach area , which had played in the Rhineland regional league until the preseason, switched to the Southwest German Football Association and its Rheinhessen-Nahe regional league for the 1949/50 season .

The Landesliga Rheinland was located below the former group north of the Oberliga Südwest and, according to geographical aspects, was divided into two seasons with twelve clubs each. The sports fans Herdorf and TuS Konz were champions of their respective seasons, but both missed in the subsequent promotion round promotion to the Oberliga Southwest. The SV Zeltingen and SV Woppenroth were relegated from the regional league.
