The TuS Konz (full name: Turn- und Sportverein 09 Konz eV ) is a sports club from Konz in Rhineland-Palatinate . The first soccer team played one year in the 1951/52 season in the then second-class II. Division Southwest.

history

TuS Konz was founded in 1909. The first successes were achieved in 1950 and 1951, when the team became Rhineland champions twice in a row. Both times the possible promotion to the then first-class Oberliga Südwest was missed. In 1951, TuS Konz was one of the founding members of the II. Southwest Division. As a knocked-down bottom of the table, the team had to relegate to the amateur league Rhineland after only one season .

Another relegation followed before returning to the amateur league in 1955. Here the team was able to hold out for two years before the concert had to relegate again. In 1967 the soccer department split off from the main club as a new independent club ( SV Konz ) due to internal difficulties . Until 1995 the first team of SV Konz played in the regional leagues. 1996 to 1999 were promoted to the state league under coach Wolfgang Hoor. After a league reform, SV Konz plays in the District League West of the Rhineland Football Association. 2014 saw the first promotion to the highest association class, the Rhineland League.
