history

Established until the post-war period

The association was founded in 1920. However, nothing is known about the league membership in the early days. After the Second World War, the first team for the 1947/48 season was incorporated into the second-rate Landesliga Rheinland . With 21:23 points, the club finished this season in seventh place in the table of the season south . After the 1951/52 season , the new third-rate amateur league Rhineland was introduced. Due to the second place in their season, the team was able to qualify for it. In the now single-track league, the team was able to hold out two seasons and then had to relegate at the end of the 1953/54 season with 20:36 points over 14th place in the 2nd amateur league.

In the 2002/03 season, the club played within a syndicate with SV Igel-Liersberg 1963 in the district league C Trier-Saarburg . With 27 points, the team finished tenth there. With 58 points and the second place after the 2003-04 season then also succeeded eventually, the rise in the District League B . After the 2005/06 season it went back down to the district league C , due to only 21 points and twelfth place in the table. After the 2007/08 season, the championship succeeded here with 59 points and one was allowed to return to the district B league. In the first season here, with 42 points, we even got third place at the end of the season.

In the following years, they always placed themselves in the top positions, but always narrowly missed the promotion places. After a second place with 51 points after the 2011/12 season, the promotion to the district league A finally succeeded in the new season. From this, however, you had to actually relegate after the next season with 26 points over the twelfth place, but were then allowed but stay in the league. With 37 points and fifth place after the 2013/14 season, this should also work better in the following 2013/14 season. This league could be held until today.

Since 2013 the SG has also joined SV Langsur . Since then, the team has been playing in competitions as the Zewen-Igel-Langsur syndicate.
