The SSV Mülheim-Kärlich (full name: Spiel- und Sportverein 1921 Mülheim eV ) was a sports club from Mülheim-Kärlich . The first soccer team played for a year in the then second-class Regionalliga Südwest .
history
SSV Mülheim was founded in January 1921 through the merger of the Ballspiel-Verein Mülheim and SC Einigkeit Mülheim clubs, which were founded in 1919 . In 1934 the SSV merged with TV 1905 Mülheim to form TuS 05/21 Mülheim . The merger was resolved a year later. In 1947 the two clubs merged again. The product Mülheimer SV 05/21 was released again in 1950.
The first soccer team made it into the amateur league of Rhineland in 1963 . From 1964 to 1966 the team was runner-up three times in a row. At the German amateur championships in 1965 and 1966, the Mülheimers reached the quarter-finals. In 1967 the team became champions and made it to the regional league. At the same time, the SSV won the Rhineland Cup with a 7-0 win against FV Engers 07 .
The regional league, however, was a size too big for Mülheim. The direct relegation followed with only two wins. In 1969 the SSV was again champion of the amateur league Rhineland, but failed in the following promotion round. Three years later, the Mülheimers were relegated from the amateur league. In 1992 the association took on its current name. The relegation to the district league took place in 1997.
Since July 1, 2000, the SSV Mülheim-Kärlich formed a game community with the SSV Urmitz-Bahnhof . The SG 2000 Mülheim-Kärlich made it into the Rhineland League in 2009. In 2011 the two clubs merged to form SG 2000 Mülheim-Kärlich .
