The SG 2000 Mülheim-Kärlich is a soccer club from Mülheim-Kärlich in the Mayen-Koblenz district in Rhineland-Palatinate . The first men's team rose to the Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz / Saar in 2020 .

history

In 2000, the two clubs SSV Mülheim and SSV Urmitz-Bahnhof formed the SG 2000 Mülheim-Kärlich syndicate. Before that there was already a cooperation between the two clubs in the youth field. The most successful parent club was the SSV Mülheim, which played in the 1967/68 season in the then second-rate Regionalliga Südwest . The club took part twice in the German amateur championship and won the Rhineland Cup once . In 2011 the two clubs merged, with the name of the syndicate being taken over.

Men

When the syndicate was founded, both parent clubs played in the district league against relegation. After the runner-up in 2003, 2007 and 2008, he was promoted to the Rhineland League in 2009 . There the team initially played against relegation, but then became runner-up behind Rot-Weiß Koblenz in the 2015/16 season . In the 2019/20 season, he was promoted to the Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz / Saarland. The season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the team from Mülheim, as the team with the best points quotient, was promoted.
