Robert Leon Brace (born December 19, 1964 in Edmonton , London ) is a former English football player who spent most of his career in southwest Germany.

Career

Brace got a professional contract with Tottenham Hotspur in December 1982 after going through the club's youth teams. For his only competitive appearance for Spurs , the striker came on May 7, 1984 as a substitute against FC Southampton . The game took place a few days before the final first leg of the UEFA Cup against RSC Anderlecht and coach Keith Burkinshaw provided numerous substitute players for the insignificant league game. The game ended in a 5-0 defeat and the club was fined. Only a few weeks after this mission Brace received the approval and moved to the Belgian first division club Waterschei Thor Genk .

After a year at Genk, he moved shortly after the start of the 1985/86 season to the Dutch second division club BV De Graafschap , for which he scored eleven goals in 27 missions. He then continued his career with the German second division club 1. FC Saarbrücken . Brace's debut on matchday 7 against KSV Hessen Kassel was over after a short time. Substituted for the injured Guido Szesni in the 42nd minute , he saw the red card in the 52nd minute after kicking Karl-Heinz Neukirch . After his suspension he contributed to the three wins on days 12 to 14 with one goal each. After 26 appearances and 7 goals in his first season at Saarbrücken, he was only a substitute player in the 1987/88 season and only came on as a substitute in 14 of his 18 league appearances (2 goals).

He then continued his career in southwest German regional football and played for FK Pirmasens (1988-1990), Eintracht Trier (90/91), TuS Koblenz (1992-1996), SpVgg EGC Wirges (1996-2000) and also had a six-month guest appearance with the Eisbachtaler Sportfreunde (1997). He trained TuS Immendorf in the regional soccer league and then moved to SG 2000 Mülheim-Kärlich and SV Niederwerth. 2015–2016 he was a trainer at TSV Lay, 2016–2017 again at TuS Immendorf.
