history

Men's

Foundation and time in the amateur league Rhineland

The association was founded in 1911. After the 1951/52 season, the team took part in the promotion round to the then second-class II. Southwest Division by placing it in the amateur league of Rhineland . With the third place and 5: 7 points after six games, the team then missed promotion. A season later , the team became champions of the amateur league and thus the team again took part in the promotion round , but this time the club even ended up in sixth and last place with 3:17 points after ten games. As a champion, it was only enough for third place in the coming season . In the rest of the season, the team always landed in the top half of the table, but could no longer claim the championship for themselves. For the 1958/59 season , the SpVgg switched to the West season , but after that the class could no longer be held and with 12th place the team was relegated to the 2nd amateur league .

It was not until the 1962/63 season that the team rose again to the Rhineland amateur league. This season was the league's last two-pronged season and was then also third-rate for the next season. With fourth place and 31:17 points, the team was able to hold the position in the single-track league from now on. The 1963/64 season was then the first season of the more compact league, here too the team was able to place itself in the top positions of the table with 38:22 points and third place. For the first time in a long time, the team was again Rhineland champions of the amateur league after the 1964/65 season . As the reigning champion it was only enough for the 14th place and thus the lowest non-relegation place in the following season . With 26:34 points, the team had a fairly large cushion on SV Prüm with 14:46 points. In the following seasons, the club always placed somewhere in the middle of the field, but in the 1969/70 season it was runner-up again. As a result, the team was allowed to take part in the 1970 amateur championship. The team was then defeated by FV Eppelborn 4: 3 in the round of 16 . After the 1974/75 season , the SpVgg rose to 15th place and then again at 24:40. Curiously, Ahrweiler BC, placed in front of the team, and SG Eintracht Lahnstein, placed in 16th place, also had 24:40 points this season , but this did not save all clubs from relegation. For the 1978/79 season, the team then rose to the fourth-class new Association League Rhineland.

Time in the district league A

In the 2002/03 season, the team played in the District League East (District of Rhineland) , could not achieve the average with 15th place and thus rose to the next season in the District League A (Koblenz district) . In the first season there, third place was achieved with 59 points. After already a low position in the previous season, the team rose again after the 2005/06 season on 13th place with 24 points theoretically again. The class could still be held, which resulted in eleventh place and 25 points at the end of the 2006/07 season. The team continued to play in the same league under their old name until the 2018/19 season.

fusion

In the summer of 2019 it was announced that SV Blau-Weiß Sayn and SpVgg would merge and both would merge into the new club SC Sayn-Bendorf . The youth team were also merged and have since performed under the name JSG Sayn-Bendorf . From then on, the new club took over the starting position of the SpVgg in the district league A for the 2019/20 season.

Ladies

The women's team rose for the 1999/2000 season from the association league to the Regionalliga Südwest . At the end of this season, the team finished fifth with 38 points. After the 2003/04 season , the women's team was then withdrawn.
