The club was founded in 1911 and in the 1959/60 season took part for the first time in the amateur league Rhineland (Staffel West), in the first season it was even able to achieve the season runner-up title. become. As a result of the championship game, however, the Rhineland Champion was VfB Wissen as the champions from the East relay. The first place could not be achieved later, however, and the table went down season by season. In the 1976/77 season could then finally be taken back to the table of the amateur league Rhineland. The club then had to give up this place again in the same season as the bottom of the table. The last big success from this time can be seen qualifying for the DFB-Pokal 1979/80 , but here they failed in the first main round against the then SpVgg Fürth . After that, the club could never play in this or a higher class. The club is currently playing in the district league B after being promoted from the district league C in the 2017/18 season.
