Jörg Bach (born November 20, 1965 in Koblenz ) is a former German soccer player and current coach. Bach played for SG Wattenscheid 09 , Hamburger SV and Fortuna Düsseldorf a total of 202 times in the Bundesliga .

Career as a player

In his youth, Bach played in Metternich , for the Eisbachtaler Sportfreunde , in Hamm (Sieg) , for Wirges and BSV Weißenthurm . At 19, he moved to SG Wattenscheid 09 in 1985 in the 2nd Bundesliga . In 1990, the Wattenscheider rose to the Bundesliga , Bach had made a significant contribution with 36 appearances and 5 goals. He played his first Bundesliga game on October 27, 1990 against 1. FC Kaiserslautern . After four years in the Bundesliga for Wattenscheid, he moved in 1994 for a transfer fee of the equivalent of € 600,000 to the league competitor Hamburger SV . But after just one season he moved on to Fortuna Düsseldorf , for which he played two years in the Bundesliga and two years in the second division. At the end of his career he was on the ball for one more season for Eintracht Trier in the third-class Regionalliga West / Südwest before he became a sports disabled person in 2000 .

In total, Bach made 202 Bundesliga appearances (13 goals) and 88 appearances in the 2nd division (7 goals). In the DFB Cup he was used a total of 15 times and scored one goal. His greatest success was reaching the semi-finals in 1996.

Career as a coach

After the end of his active career, Bach began in 2000 as a coach at TuS Montabaur in the sixth class Rhineland League . In 2002 he moved to league competitor TSV Emmelshausen , where he was relegated to the Rhineland district league in 2004 , but managed to get promoted again in 2007 before moving to the Rhineland league club SG Zell-Bullay / Alf in 2008. In 2011 he left the SG. Bach has been the coach of the SV Binningen district league team since summer 2012 . In the summer of 2015 he took over the league club SpVgg EGC Wirges , but was dismissed after only six league games without a win. Then returned to SV Binningen, which had meanwhile become part of the SG Vordereifel syndicate.
