The SpVgg Neuwied was a German sports club based in the Rhineland-Palatinate district town of Neuwied in the district of the same name .
history
The first football team rose to the 1950/51 season in the then second-class Rhineland regional league . With 34:26 points, the team was even able to secure third place here in the North relay at the end of the season. After the next season, the regional league was then dissolved and the now third-class single-track amateur league Rhineland was introduced for the next season. The first five clubs in the North Season then qualified for the new division. With 39:21 points and third place, SpVgg made the cut and was allowed to move into the new league.
Even in the new league, despite the stronger competition, they were able to play again and took fourth place with 37:23 points at the end of the 1952/53 season . But this should have been the highest position on the table, in the coming seasons it was only enough for a maximum of fifth place. Even a change to the West season after the league had become two-pronged again did not help, and the team played against relegation from season to season. The 1960/61 season meant 13th and last place in the table with 12:36 points and thus the end of the game association in the 1st amateur league. The direct resurgence succeeded in the 1962/63 season . However, they fell victim to the league's return to the single track and did not make the cut with 19:29 points over eighth place in the East relay . So this time the team finally had to relegate to the 2nd amateur league.
For the 1986/87 season, the team rose again to the Association League Rhineland , but then had to relegate after one season as bottom of the table with only 8:26 points. Also from the district league East they rose one season later. Nothing is known about the further fate of the club.
