Villegouin is a municipality with 331 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the French department of Indre in the Region Center-Val de Loire . It belongs to the canton of Valençay (until 2015: canton of Écueillé ) in the arrondissement of Châteauroux .

The municipality of Villegouin is located about 23 kilometers northwest of Châteauroux . It borders to the north and northwest by Préaux , in the north and northeast on Heugnes , on the east by Pellevoisin , in the east and southeast by Argy , in the south and southeast by Buzançais , south to Saint-Genou and in the west of Palluau-sur-Indre . Hamlets in the municipality are called Mauregard , Les Clavières and Cerez .
