Jean-Eric Paquet

Jean-Eric Paquet (* before 1993) is a French EU civil servant and has been Director General of the Research and Innovation Directorate-General of the European Union since March 2018 .

Jean-Eric Paquet studied German with a master's degree at the University of Strasbourg and European administration at the College of Europe in Bruges and international and public affairs in Strasbourg.

From 1993 he went through a career in the service of the European Commission. From 2004 to 2007 he was ambassador of the EU in Mauritania . From 2011 to 2015 he was Director of various departments in the Directorates-General responsible for transport and enlargement. He was then Deputy General Secretary in the General Secretariat until March 2018.
