Buchholz is a rural street village in the area of the city of Mönchengladbach in the Mönchengladbach West district and is located west of Wickrath .
geography
Buchholz is located on the western outskirts of Mönchengladbach to the city limits of the Heinsberg and Wegberg districts. Wickrath, the main town, is about two kilometers as the crow flies to the west. Buchholz mainly consists of Laurentiusstraße. The village is around 1.2 kilometers long in east-west expansion.

history
Buchholz was first mentioned in a document as "Boikholt" in the 14th century, but people had already settled in this area before. Due to its location on the old Roman road between St. Odilienberg and Neuss, finds from the Roman era are found again and again.
