Le Châtelet is a French municipality with 994 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Cher in the region Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Amand-Montrond and the canton of Châteaumeillant (until 2015: canton of Le Châtelet ). The inhabitants are called Castellois .

Le Châtelet is about 50 kilometers south of Bourges on the Portefeuille River . Le Châtelet is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Pierre-les-Bois in the north, Ardenais in the east, Reigny in the south-east, Saint-Maur in the south, Saint-Jeanvrin in the south-west, Beddes in the west and south-west and Maisonnais in the west and north-west.
Le Châtelet is located on Via Lemovicensis , one of the four historic " Routes of the St. James pilgrims in France ".

Attractions
- Notre-Dame church in Puy-Ferrand, old monastery church, in the 11th / 12th centuries. It was built in the 18th century and has been a monument historique since 1911
