The District of Le Châtelet was 2015 a French canton in the department of Cher and the region Center-Val de Loire . It included seven parishes in the arrondissement of Saint-Amand-Montrond ; its main town (French: chef-lieu ) was Le Châtelet . The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015. The last representative in the conseil général des Départements was Hubert Robin ( PS ) for the years 2011–2015 .
The canton of Le Châtelet was 17,915 hectares (179.15 km 2 ) and last had 2710 inhabitants, which corresponded to a population density of 15 inhabitants per km 2 (as of 2012). It was on average at 215 m , between 165 m in Ids-Saint-Roch and 276 m in Le Châtelet .
