The canton of Chateauneuf-sur-Cher was by 2015 a French canton in the department of Cher and the region Center-Val de Loire . It included 11 parishes in the arrondissement of Saint-Amand-Montrond ; its main town (French: chef-lieu ) was Châteauneuf-sur-Cher . The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015.

The canton of Châteauneuf-sur-Cher was 21,783 hectares (217.83 km 2 ) and last had 4602 inhabitants, which corresponded to a population density of 21 inhabitants per km 2 (as of 2012). The mean was 164  m , between 128  m in Corquoy and 226  m in Vallenay .
