It belongs to the canton of Montluçon-3 (until 2015: canton of Marcillat-en-Combraille ) in the arrondissement of Montluçon . The inhabitants are called Arpheuillais .

Arpheuilles-Saint-Priest is about 13 kilometers south-southeast of Montluçon . Arpheuilles-Saint-Priest is surrounded by the neighboring communities Durdat-Larequille in the north, Ronnet in the east and southeast, Marcillat-en-Combraille in the south and southwest, Terjat in the west and Saint-Genest in the northwest.
